Who comes to your door, and how the job is done

Locksmith Dénia is a mobile locksmith working from Dénia across the Marina Alta. There is no shop to walk into: the work happens at your door, your gate or your car, in English or in Spanish.

How a job runs, from the first call

  1. You describe the door and the lock

    On the phone, or on WhatsApp with a photo and a location pin.

  2. The price, before any work starts

    Explained once the lock has been seen. If something unexpected turns up after that, you are asked before anything else goes on.

  3. You show it is yours

    Proof of residence or ownership, every time. It protects you as much as anyone.

  4. The least damaging method first

    A lock is only sacrificed when nothing else will do, and it is replaced before leaving.

  5. You pay and get an invoice

    In cash, by card or by Bizum. The phone is picked up 24 hours a day; planned work is booked for a time that suits you.

Work we turn down, and why

None of the work below is offered, and it is better to say so plainly than to waste your call:

  • Car keys: supplying, replacing or programming them.
  • Transponder keys and vehicle remotes.
  • Cutting or copying keys, of any kind.
  • Replacement or spare keys for doors and padlocks.
  • Ignition barrel repairs.
  • Motorbike and van keys.

The reason is simple. Keys are a trade of their own, with their own machines, and modern car keys are coded to the vehicle through systems that belong with the dealer. This business concentrates on doors and locks and does that well, rather than doing a little of everything.

The work is opening, repairing and replacing locks. Cars are opened when the keys are locked inside, and nothing more: see vehicle door opening. For a copy of a key, a key-cutting counter is the right place; for a car key, the dealer.
